Dude do you know about Apple Intermediate Codec formats Acrez? If you use MPEG Streamclip you can eorpxt your camera footage or whatever as a quicktime movie with apple intermediate codec. Then if you go to final cut, select easy setup and change the preset to Apple Intermediate Codec 720p 30 you can edit much faster.
